I though that since it's not at all long away, I would collect some of my faves and make a birthday wishlist. I'm the kind of person to usually make these things a bit earlier, but so much stuff has been happening lately that i've sorta forgotten to!

DIY- Honey citrus sugar scrub

hey hey hey my wonderful friends!

As it's now autumn, this time of year is always somehow the worst on my skin. It seems no amount of moisturizer can keep my dry skin away and for a long time I haven't found a way to stop it. Thankfully, I was scrolling through Pinterest one night and found a holy grail solution that I've come to love : A honey citrus sugar scrub!

All it takes is just four ingredients, and it's perfect for those pesky rashes and skin irritations I know we all get from all the dirt and yuck stuff that mysteriously gets collected and pop's up on our face throughout the day. And you know why this scrub is the best ever, it's all super natural and perfect for sensitive skin ; just make sure you don't scrub too hard though!

+ Ingredients:
1/2 cup raw sugar
2 tsp raw honey ( normal honey will do just fine )
1/4 cup coconut oil ( or olive oil if you like)
2 tsp fresh citrus zest ( I used the zest of a lemon, but a orange, lime or grapefruit would be perfect also)

a squeeze of lemon juice - optional, but perfect if you want some more lemon scent in your scrub.

 + Directions:

First mix together the honey and coconut oil, then stir the mixture into 1 cup of raw sugar. After that, add the citrus zest from the chosen citrus fruit of your choice. You can add a little more oil, depending on how the mixture looks and how liquid based you want it to be. If it's two runny, add some more sugar, and if too dry, add a little more oil.

Once you are done, store in an air-tight container / jar. The shelf life is between 1-2 weeks, but just make sure every time you use it to close the jar tightly and store in a safe place.

To store my scrub, I put it in a $2 chalkboard jar and decorated it with pink polka dots!

Aaaand there you go! A perfect simple scrub for those times you wanna feel extra fresh or even perfect for a pamper night. This DIY makes a great gift, too. Just put it in a decorated jar, add a label and/or some ribbon, and you have a quick, cheap & easy present for your family + friends.

Enjoy!

A FRESH NEW START - ROOM

aloha everyone!

Hello and welcome to the new and updated "Hello Greta"! Wow oh wow it's been a while. I'm oh so sorry about that. I guess I've been locked up in a whirlwind of school, going places, homework and house chores that I've had almost NO time to blog.

anyway, I LOVE decorating my room. THERE. I said it. I love spending my money on new bed covers, prints, vases, lights, even flowers.

But lately things haven't felt that good. My room does not feel like ME, since I've had the same bed and bedside table since I was 5, an ugly dark brown desk that is too small and not pretty, and my main hate is the PURPLE WALL one of my walls in my room has that came with our current rented house. I don't know about if it's just that I've gathered different tastes over the years or I'm just being super fussy ( *insert laughing/ crying emoji *) but I really feel like it's time for a new fresh look. I've been super eager to plan it out, since I've been begging and begging to my family for a room makeover for my birthday.

So here it is. I've gathered a few of my fave furniture pieces I've been eying down and decor pieces that I've been loving which I will hopefully be able to call MINE very soon. Enjoy xx

4/ IKEA HEMNES CHEST OF DRAWS

5/ WILLOW BED FRAME - FANTASTIC FURNITURE OR KMART VINTAGE BED FRAME

6/ KMART BEDSIDE TABLE

As for my desk and new lamp, I've been looking around for a rustic blue kinda desk ( you know what I mean Sofie,  give me your old desk please!) and a retro style lamp. As you can see, this is just the basics but I am super excited to work on it and get my room looking awesome as soon as possible!

what is something you have been working towards? a new top, book, or even a new room?

till next time,

christmas wishlist

MERRY ALMOST CHRISTMAS !!

Wow oh wow can you believe there is only 10 days till Christmas? I am super excited and I can't wait to spend Christmas eve drinking hot chocolates and snuggling in the blankets on the couch amongst the Christmas tree, and most importantly have a great time on Christmas day eating festive food and exchanging presents... AHHHH bliss!

Even after Christmas I have LOTS to look forward to like my overseas holiday to Singapore and Vietnam ( our plane leaves at 1 am must I add!) and of corse just having 6 weeks to relax and destress from a busy year of school.

Anyway, to kick off the festive celebrations I have collected my most favourite things I've found so far and made it into a Christmas wishlist. Enjoy !

CHRISTMAS WISHLIST:

1.// WONDERFUL CUSHION from cotton on kids

2.// BAGGU BLUE DOTTY BACKPACK from Vincent

3.// POSCA PENS from Amazon

4.// HELLO TOKYO CRAFT BOOK by Hello Sandwich

Hope you all enjoyed this post, and there are many more exciting things to come very soon here!
